Reviews

Rave reviews for my 236-page blockbuster: ‘The Great Regency Cover‘.

“You have discerned an amazing story. It’s got everything it needs to be a blockbuster: romance, history, the paranormal and the story of a narrator finding his way in the world. Big stories like this are difficult to tell.

The writer has to sift the really important facts from those that don’t keep the story moving. Keeping the reader oriented – and engaged – in a story with twists and turns like this is no small feat either.” – Judge, Writer’s Digest 21st Annual Self-Published Book Awards

“This is a fun and entertaining book. The characters are fabulous, as is the storyline. I am impressed with your imagination, writing skills, and storytelling ability. The readers will truly love this material.

It has all of the necessary elements: good characterization; interesting (and well-described) settings; and authentic-sounding dialogue … this will be a success. I sincerely wish you luck with this endeavor. However you will not need luck, as you have a gift for writing.”– The Writers Literary & Publishing Service, USA

“I loved the writing style and sense of humour straight away. This continued throughout the whole book and while there are parts that are easy to read, the historical exploration and journey required more careful attention and concentration. Mind you, saying that, Neil continued to pop up with comments that added extra interest.

I enjoyed reading about Neil’s life and his journey to writing this book and the research he undertook. His adventures in the Australian country area in Victoria while he tries to find his feet after losing everything were touching but entertaining.

His romantic adventures in New York and later on in rural Italy were incredible and intriguing. His trip to England when he was virtually penniless was amazing – and finding himself in locations that closely related to his historical research was wonderfully portrayed.

This was a fun book to read and I am certainly interested in reading other books written by Neil WJ Smith.

I would highly recommend this book as an unusual and intriguing journey undertaken by an “untypical Aussie male”. – Sharon Jarvis, Victoria, Australia

“I’m thoroughly enjoying your book … your presentation of the English language and story telling is magical.” – DR K.W., Victoria, Australia.

“I read your book, couldn’t put it down really! I’d read until my eyes said NO MORE! I just admire greatly your way of weaving the past and the present so skilfully, crossing them over like a beautiful tapestry.” – C.W., Queenscliff, Australia.

“Very interesting book! Couldn’t stop reading!”– R.G. Lenzburg, Switzerland.
